Eggo Bake Shop Twists Review
Friday, April 3rd, 2009I grew up on the Leggo my Eggo commercials and always wanted my parents to buy me Eggo waffles. Now, Eggo has a new convenient breakfast food: Eggo Bake Shop Twists.
With a toddler, an infant, and three businesses, it can be hard to find time for breakfast. I usually mix up some oatmeal and fresh fruit for the toddler, but I’m lucky if I grab a granola bar. Some days, it would be more satisfying to have a hot meal.
I like that the Bake Shop Twists have real fruit. I wonder why it is necessary to add coloring and high fructose corn syrup in addition to the real fruit and sugar. Generally, I shy away from added sweeteners and prefer more natural ingredients.
We microwaved ours and the taste was decent, if very sweet. They tasted like jam spread on warm toast, with the Apple having a strong cinnamon sugar flavor. The sweetness had a natural feel, rather than the harsh, metallic, fake taste packaged foods sometimes have.
Although I probably am not the target market for Bake Shop Twists and would not buy them regularly, I think they are a good, inexpensive, quick solution for a warm breakfast.
